Backstory: In Spring 2020, I concluded 2 lovely seasons of bunny re-enactments. The most recent season (wherein I partnered with TV news site PrimeTimer.com), saw the bunnification of five breakout TV episodes! Including:

The (original) Twilight Zone buns! (Winner of our Viewers' Choice event)! Season 5, Ep. 3: "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet"

...As well as the Festivus episode of Seinfeld!

Preceded by...S1E1 of The Walking Dead ("Days Gone Bye")!

Prior to that was: Episode 1 of Stranger Things S1!

And the start of the season...Game of Thrones buns!

Here is the cartoon announcement I made about the 2019-20 TV Buns season.

Notice certain re-enactments missing? In the spirit of combating racism and hate in daily American life, I have taken stock of my 30-Second Bunnies Theatre parody library and decided to shelve certain re-enactments containing arguably racist content. Even though my intention was never to cause offense, I see now that even parodies can perpetuate racism and cause harm. Therefore I have removed the following re-enactments from the collection:
Godzilla bunnies
The Grudge bunnies
Pirates 3 bunnies
Sixteen Candles bunnies

I have also removed Brokeback Mountain bunnies due to an offensive, tacked-on ending scene. I do not want to perpetuate homophobic content, either.

I deeply apologize and will work to stay vigilant in any future content I create.

Other projects:

- I completed a short animated excerpt from the Ombudsman webcomic: The Inventor!

Hooray! We've exceeded 1 billion page views since the site began (and since I started keeping track some time in 2001)...THANK YOU for your viewership!!

I want to say thank you to everyone who's written in with such kind words and great requests. I read every single email that comes through here, and your correspondence means more to me (and the bunnies) than I can express. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

What inspires you to create? A few days ago, Doug pointed out a BoingBoing article citing William KamKwamba, a nineteen year-old who lives in Malawi and decided to build a windmill to power his family home. Best of all, William is documenting the whole process on his blog and in photos. I got so inspired by his creativity that I had to share here. If you are in need of inspiration, read his entries and check out his work-in-progress. Then visit your local library!

I discussed all things bunnies with Nathan Cone of Texas Public Radio. The direct link to the podcast is here.

I just got back from a few days at the Platform International Animation Festival in Portland, Oregon, where Borat Bunnies screened in the internet competition. I had a fantastic time, loved Portland and hope to return next year.

I talked about all things bunnies with Nathan Cone of Texas Public Radio (it's the 5th feature down on that page). The direct link to the podcast is here.

Greetings, Everyone! The bunnies bring you their rendition of Pirates of the Bunibbean 1 and 2. Arrrrr! (This year the bunnies and I are pleased to report we have not yet missed out on International Talk like a Pirate Day. Every year we seem to find out on the day, at the end of the day, and miss out on precious hours we could have been talking like a pirate, or learning how. But not this year! No, not this year. It's September 19. Be sure you make a note of it.)

Thanks to everyone in Rochester, NY for coming to the talk I gave at the George Eastman House last Friday! Doug and I had a great time. To the fellow who asked what version of Adobe Streamline I use: it's 4.0! (Although Adobe's discontinuing it anyway).

August 22, 2005

This Friday, August 26 at 8p, I'll be giving a talk at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. I'll detail the evolution of my work up to 30-Second Bunnies Theatre, showing some older Flash work and my first animated short, and other fun stuff. It'll be an interesting look at how technology impacted my path as a long-time creator of stuff.

August 8, 2005 This Friday...Shiman dorks out on national TV. The fine folk at Starz have set me up on a satellite media tour this Friday 8/12, whereby I shall appear on various morning shows across the nation discussing the bunnies and their ways. One member of the Bunnies Theatre Troupe is joining me to help field questions. Here is a tentative list of live broadcasts for Friday a.m.: Charlotte, NC (WCCB/FOX/FOX NEWS RISING) Sacramento, CA (KOVR/CBS/DAYBREAK) Indianapolis, IN (WXIN/FOX/FOX 59 AM) Phoenix, AZ (KTVK/IND/GOOD MORNING ARIZONA) Other interviews scheduled (unsure when they'll air): Denver, CO (KUSA/NBC/ KUSA 9 NEWS) Albuquerque, NM (KOB/NBC/KOB NEWS) Nashville, TN (WLLP/IND/WLLP NEWS) NATIONAL (APTV/ASSOCIATED PRESS/NEWSFEED) NATIONAL (FOX NEWSEDGE/FOX/NEWSFEED) Tampa/Sarasota, FL (WWSB/ABC/ABC 7 ACTION NEWS) Orlando, FL (CF NEWS 13/REG'L NEWSCHANNEL) Houston, TX (KTRK/ABC/EYEWITNESS NEWS) Boston (CN 8/REG'L NEWSCHANNEL/NITE BEAT) I'll report back on how it goes.

July 2005 I've always been a huge fan of comic books, and going to the local comic shop for a regular inspection of the latest tidbits is one of my favorite pastimes. Adding to the pool of righteous comic tidbits is the illustrious and talented Ted Mathot, brother of the likewise illustrious and talented John Mathot (the voice of the bunnies' agent Duck, plus an additional bunnies voice in a bunch of the upcoming re-enactments). Ted has recently released his first comic book entitled Rose and Isabel, which you should check out promptly. Congratulations on an outstanding comic, Ted! Now hurry up and release part 2!

If you've recently received a weird email claiming to be from angryalien.com and saying bizarre stuff like "YOUR PASSWORD WAS SUCCESSFULLY UPDATED," delete it right away and do not open the attachment. Someone has apparently spoofed the angryalien.com name and is sending bogus emails to people on the news list (which has since been disabled indefinitely). For virus info and safety tips check out a site such as Symantec's security response. Remember, a bonafide email from angryalien.com would never include an attachment, among other things. It really kind of sucks, so be on the alert, please. (And by the way, a HUGE thank you to everyone who emailed me to let me know about this. Sorry I couldn't reply to everyone who's sent a note...but you all RULE!!!) In other news, the bunnies and I are tremendously honored to have received the first-ever Starz Ion Award at the Maui Film Festival June 15-19! One of five bunny re-enactments (RHPS, Jaws, The Big Chill, It's a Wonderful Life, and Titanic Bunnies) showed as part of the trailer in front of each movie at the festival. Thanks to everyone at the festival for their gracious hospitality, and thanks to Starz for being such a great group of folks to work with.

April 2005 The bunnies have been creating a few promos for Starz on Demand® in addition to the new re-enactments (which will be added to the Angryalien.com library in the months ahead). I'll post a link to the updated SOD landing page soon. The bunnies have finished their performance of Highlander and The Big Chill! Starz on Demand® is currently showcasing the new Pulp Fiction bunnies (along with the slasher series from the Starz Hare-Raising Halloween Marathon, above). You can find said re-enactments playing in front of most of the Starz on Demand® top hits (except children's movies or PG movies). They'll be located under the button 'Only Here.' Pulp Fiction bunnies will debut on the angryalien.com site in June. Apparently Rocky Horror Picture Show bunnies will be shown in conjunction with a Starz satellite tour featuring RHPS creator himself, Richard O'Brien!! Hooray! February 2005: Douglas (a.k.a. bunnies voice extraordinaire) & I appeared on the G4 show The Screen Savers. We had a great time, got to watch Drunk Vader from behind the scenes, and the root beer wasn't as bad as those guys made it out to be. Here's the interview from the show. January 2005: Starz Entertainment Group LLC (SEG) announced that they're commissioning ten more re-enactments from the 30-Second Bunnies Theatre Troupe! The re-enactments are: The Rocky Horror Picture Show Pulp Fiction Highlander The Big Chill Clerks The Karate Kid Thelma & Louise The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Night of the Living Dead Weird Science These re-enactments will debut on STARZ!, Starz on Demand® and STARZ! Ticketsm on Real Movies. They will then be added to the Angryalien.com library in the months ahead. SEG had previously commissioned the bunny toons Freddy vs. Jason, Scream and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for their Hare-Raising Halloween Marathon in October 2004.
